Africa Privé Request a Proposal

Africa Privé Journeys

Starting points, never fixed scripts

Some travellers want to see Cape Town and the Cape Winelands. Ours want to own the experience of it — a table with no one else in the room, a cellar door that opens because we know the cellar master by name, a coastline seen from a private cruise timed to catch the light exactly right.

Africa Privé builds journeys, safaris and bespoke itineraries for a clientele who have already done “luxury travel” and found most of it interchangeable — the same hotel groups, the same set menus, the same rehearsed conversations. What we build is different because it is built around one guest at a time, never a brochure.

Each of the journeys below is a starting point, never a fixed script. Every element — the pace, the estates, the properties, the experiences — is built around the guest in front of us, not the other way around. Every safari and trip is totally customisable.

Why Africa Privé

Access, judgment,
privacy and one relationship

Access, not just service
We can put you on a helipad at a private wine estate, seat you with a cellar master who builds a pairing around your actual taste, and close a restaurant for the evening — because these are relationships built over years, not bookings made online.
Judgment, not just itinerary
A Big Five sighting, a smooth Table Bay crossing, a calm day on False Bay — none of these can be promised by a brochure. They can only be judged, in real time, by people who have done this hundreds of times and know exactly when to move and when to wait.
Total privacy, by default
Every cruise, tasting, dinner and transfer across every journey, trip or safari we build is exclusively private. Your party is never sharing a boat, a table or a game vehicle with strangers.
One relationship, start to finish
A dedicated personal concierge sees every journey through from arrival to departure — present exactly when needed, invisible when privacy matters more.

The Africa Privé Standard

On every journey,
without exception

  • Expert local guides throughout, chosen for depth of knowledge rather than general tourism experience
  • An ultra-exclusive, Range Rover-tier chauffeur-driven vehicle for every transfer — never a standard luxury car
  • Accommodation hand-picked property by property — a small number of hotels, estates and camps we personally vet and return to, never a standard allocation from a group’s inventory
  • Every activity run on an exclusively private basis — no shared cruises, tastings or dining rooms
  • A dedicated personal concierge, present at each transition point and available to step back for full privacy on request
  • A private shopping experience — personal shopper, boutique and jewellery house access, or art gallery consultations — available as an optional add-on, priced separately

Every journey is priced individually, per person sharing, for parties of 2, 4 and 6 — request a proposal for current pricing.

Make It Yours

Optional enhancements,
priced separately

Upgrade the Accommodation
Move beyond Gold Class to Diamond, or step into a private villa for full autonomy — your own kitchen, pool and staff, away from a shared hotel footprint entirely. Available on any of the journeys, priced on request.
Add a Signature Experience
None of these journeys include our full experience collection. Guests can add any of these to deepen a journey: the Cape Winemaker’s Atelier, the Fynbos Fragrance Atelier, the Cape Botanical Tea Atelier, the Cape Leopard Legacy Expedition, the Fynbos Legacy Expedition, the Ocean Collection, the Ultimate Cape Circle Experience or the Greater Cape Town Cruise.
Upgrade the Helicopter
The aircraft used throughout these itineraries can be swapped for the best available in our fleet, for guests who want the aircraft itself to match the rest of the day.

Planning Your Journey

Before you choose
a safari

Extending to safari
For a true Big Five safari beyond the Cape, Africa Privé can extend any journey into the Greater Kruger area of South Africa and Northern Botswana, with Victoria Falls available as a further add-on. Cape Town has direct commercial flights to Hoedspruit, the gateway to the Greater Kruger, and to Maun, the gateway to Northern Botswana. Should scheduled flights not suit, we can arrange a private charter instead. Reaching the camp will almost always require a further transfer, by road or by air — in Botswana this final leg is always by air.
Understanding the seasons
The Cape and the safari regions run on opposite calendars. November to April is the Cape at its best — and also the green season in the Greater Kruger and Botswana, when the safari regions receive their rain. May to October is the reverse: the safari areas are at their driest, while the Cape has its Mediterranean winter rainfall.
Green season game viewing
In our view, the green season delivers better, more spectacular game viewing, not worse. The landscape is a sea of green; animals do not disappear — this is when most species have their young, migrant birds are present and predator activity is heightened.
Kruger or Botswana?
With over thirty years in this industry, our view is that it comes down to what you personally value. In the Greater Kruger, shared sightings can be limited to under fifteen minutes, air conditioning runs throughout the camp and other vehicles are consistently around. Botswana is vast, wild and genuinely uncrowded, with no such restriction, plus boating and mokoro excursions — though air conditioning is typically limited to the bedroom. We offer both, and we will tell you honestly which fits you.
The travel day
The day you travel from the Cape to the bush is not counted as a safari day, which is why we recommend a minimum of three nights at a safari lodge. Day 1 is for settling in, lunch and a dip in the pool, then high tea, a late-afternoon game drive and sundowners. Days 2 and 3 are full safari days.
A day in the bush
Game drives run early morning, returning to camp around 10 or 11am for brunch or breakfast. A light lunch is offered, then high tea before the late-afternoon game drive, timed for when animals are most active. The middle of the day is yours: relaxing, swimming, resting. Times are indicative and flex by camp and season.
Private vehicle and guide
Non-negotiable: every safari we arrange uses a private vehicle and a private guide. You share with no one. For an extra layer of depth, we highly recommend bringing one of our own expert guides along.
Malaria
December to April falls within malaria season across these regions. It is not a serious risk when taken seriously — with proper prophylaxis and precautions, it should not be a barrier to travel.
Expectations in the bush
Wildlife sightings in the bush can never be guaranteed, however much is spent. What we do guarantee is that your expectations are managed honestly from the outset, and that your personal safety is treated as the highest priority at all times.

Tell us what you have in mind.
We will build the rest.

Start from any journey, or from a blank page.
