A living spa set in a bamboo forest on a working Cape Dutch farm, tied to the garden and the seasons — with a hammam, chill room and gym, plus a hot spa with an indoor pool, sauna, salt room, two vitality pools, a marble hammam and a Rasul chamber, and use of the hot spa included with every treatment.
The Garden Spa is the wellness arm of Babylonstoren, and like everything on the farm it is led by the garden. It is a pavilion built of bamboo in a bamboo forest, with leiwater channels running through the greenery. The Tatler Spa Guide 2020 singled out its wooden walkways, pools, hammam for two and thoughtful treatments.
It is strongest as a thermal and couples’ spa. The hammam, a double hammam room, duo massages and a Rasul for two sit alongside herbal and bamboo massages and a range of facials. Guests eat and drink from a spa menu prepared by the Greenhouse restaurant.

The Garden Spa – Where the Garden Comes Indoors
At Babylonstoren, the spa follows the garden and its seasons. A wooden gate off the garden path, just past the Greenhouse, opens onto a bamboo forest, with leiwater channels running through the greenery and a bamboo pavilion at its heart.
The hammam is the signature: an ancient Turkish cleansing ritual that eases stress, boosts circulation and relaxes tired muscles. Alongside it are the deep-tissue bamboo massage, herbal poultice and hot stone massages, and wraps and facials from natural, organic ranges to Medicosmetics. A Rasul chamber offers Arabian-inspired mud scrubs and soaks for two.
The hot spa adds a large indoor pool, sauna, salt room, two vitality pools and a marble hammam, and its use is included in every treatment. Afterwards, the Greenhouse restaurant prepares food and drinks for spa guests, drawn from the same garden.
